Elyse Jones is a recent fashion graduate of the University of Hertfordshire. In her Discovery collection, fashion forces join with special forces for this ready-to-wear womenswear Autumn/winter 20/21 collection. The collection consists of 6 outfits, inspired The Terracotta Army Located in China. Extracting inspiration from the archeological discovery has engineered the collection to provide structure, elegance, and athleticism.
Silhouette is led by oversized proportions resorted with channels of elastic shock cord and toggles. When the elastic is pulled, the fabric folds and forms a gathered texture and an alliance between the fit and the fabric. Cropped Jackets dual with longline lengths igniting a juxtaposition of shape. Paperboy details are on duty and on trend. Functionality at the forefront commanded with large patch pockets. Some of the outfits are finished with headwear made out of scale effect material. The collection is armed with an authentic textile design, a weave of spacer mesh fabrics with contrasting pastel blue shock cord elastic. The elastic is secured with toggles win loops to create a shaggy shield aesthetic. The fabrication consists of drill and nylon rivaled with ripstop, spacer mesh and scuba. The unearthing of the Terracotta Army has provided the concept with a palette of united neutrals that stays grounded with taupe tones, navy blue deepens the relationship between the neutral shades and strengthens the colour palette. Unforeseen powder blue and turquoise blues break through the Terracotta dusts.
